The signal on this thing is WEAK. You have to be right up on a bug in order to detect it. But that's how I always saw them using those things on the Soprano's and similar shows. That's how I think it should be done anyway, so you can figure out the location of what exactly is setting off your surveillance detector.

As you get closer to the camera or audio bug you will have more indicator lights illuminated. The detection distance is a maximum of 32 feet (10 meters). The detector comes loaded with features such as a low battery indicator, earphones, and sensitivity button, two operation modes (alarm or vibration). The detector operates on 2 AAA batteries that are not included. Dimensions are 4 inches x 2 and one-quarter inches x five-eighths inches. The unit comes packaged in a study metal container.

Detector That CONSTANTLY VIBRATES... NOT PROPERLY WORKING - me1 - "Dirty South"
This Detector CONSTANTLY VIBRATES... NOT PROPERLY WORKING. Not only does it seemingly NOT detect anything of value besides my towel rack's metal screws, it just constantly beeps/ vibrates once I turn it on.

Save your money. This unit will buzz near most any electrical outlet. It never picked up recorders that we placed around to find.
