Classically styled but equipped with all the modern features, the Uniden Bearcat PC78 Elite CB radio is a must for truckers, boaters, and other CB enthusiasts. More importantly, the radio operates on any of the 40 AM frequencies authorized by the FCC, while also picking up seven NOAA weather channels. For good measure, it even includes an alarm that sounds when a severe weather storm is forecast.

Perhaps the PC78 Elite's most satisfying feature, however, is Uniden's dynamic squelch control, which delivers a clear signal with less noise so that all your channels sound crisp and legible. The squelch control even reduces noise when the CB user on the other end doesn't have it, an advantage that few other squelch enhancers enjoy. The front-positioned microphone, meanwhile, is easy to access and comfortable to hold thanks to its ergonomic pistol grip and extra-long coiled cord.

Additional features include an enhanced night-vision display; Delta tuning; adjustable RF and mic gain controls; instant access to channel 9 (the emergency channel); a PA/CB switch; soft-wave radio (SWR) calibration; and signal meter, antenna warning, and LED indicators that let you monitor radio activity at a glance.

The unit, which measures 7.28 by 2.2 by 8.89 inches (W x H x D) and weighs a little over 4 pounds, is backed by a two-year warranty on parts and labor.
